Safety Act Work

Safety Act is used to prevent accidents, ensure an orderly process and the production went according to plan, and arrange for the production process run regularly and according to plan, and arrange for the production process does not harm all parties. Each eligible labor safety protection in doing work for the welfare and increase the production and national productivity.
Safety at Work Act in force in Indonesia now is the Occupational Safety Act (UUKK) No. 1 in 1970. This Act is the main legislation which contains the basic rules or the general provisions on work safety in all workplaces in the area of Homeland jurisdiction.
Law No legal basis. 1 in 1970 is the 1945 Constitution article 27 (2) and Law No. 14 in 1969. Article 27 (2) states that: “Every citizen has the right to work and decent living for humanity”. This means that every citizen has the right to decent living wage jobs and not enough to cause an accident / illness. Law No. 14 of 1969 states that labor is the main capital and implementers of development.
UUKK application scope is limited by the 3 elements that must be fulfilled cumulatively to the workplace. Three elements must be met are:

  1. Workplaces where the work done for a business.
  2. The existence of labor, and
  3. There are dangers in the workplace.

UUKK preventive, meaning the application of this law, expected to accidents can be prevented. This is the basic difference that distinguishes the laws previously in force. UUKK aims to prevent, reduce and ensure labor and others to gain workplace protection, resource use and production can be used aefisien, and the production process run smoothly.
