occupational safety and healthThere is no doubt that the employer or employer is responsible; to create the company, becomes the main generator of all the risks associated with a task. If we add a hapless management, most urgently appear accidents and occupational diseases.

In Puerto Rico Section 6 A of the Law on Safety and Health at Work states: Every employer shall furnish to each employee employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or injury physically to their employees ”

As such, employers must conduct an evaluation of each task and identify the hazards that are present. They then must seek an alternative to eliminate these hazards, starting with engineering controls, administrative controls and failing to provide personal protective equipment.

If administrators decide to have a Specialist Occupational Safety and Health have to be clear that this will be your internal controls and must have authority to make decisions and to judge to purchase equipment and materials, without waiting for bureaucratic decisions, and late. Identify workplace hazards in each task, selecting methods of hazard control, offering trainings on health and safety regulations and protective equipment, drafting of programs, among other matters relevant to safety and health .

Do not let that “From time to see succeed annulments, from seeing so much injustice grow, watch tower up so much power in the hands of the wicked man comes to me out of virtue, to laugh at honor, to be ashamed to be honest “.
